Notices

Welcome to Room 2's notices. This is a good place to find out what is happening in the school or syndicate.

We have been working really hard making costumes and props for our concert.  We have also been practicing our item and it's coming along nicely.  We still need some long blue material, brown fur and yellow material.  If you have any at home we would really appreciate it.  Don't forget to purchase your tickets.  It's going to be a great concert!!

We are looking at "Keeping Ourselves Safe" starting on Wednesday 13th  August.  We have Kerry Fenton coming in to help us with this topic.  Thank you to the parents who attended the information evening.  If you have any questions please come and see me to discuss them.  Your children may come home with an activity sheet to complete.  Please help them to complete it.
Cheers!

We have had a lot of fun with our Super Kid.  We have had 7 Super kids so far.  This is Katie who is our Super Kid  for Monday and Tuesday this week.  We love her comment about her brother. haha

Term 3 and we are starting a new tradition in Room 2.  We are choosing a Super Kid on a Monday and a different Super Kid on a Wednesday until the end of the year.  When we choose our Super Kid they sit on the special chair and the rest of us stand up and give them an applause.  Our Super Kid helps Mrs Garner and other students, they choose who the leaders will be and they give out notices.  Our first Super Kid was Troy.  He has to answer a few questions about himself on our special chart before he can start he role.  Here are his photos.

Here are some of the great photo's from Te Roopa Matau's art evening in Term 2.

Hope you all had a great break  and welcome back.
Well it's that time of the year again where the weather is changeable.  Please remember to supply spare clothing for your child just in case they fall over and get their clothes wet and muddy.
At the moment the student are practicing for the cross country.  They have been doing well and each day are recording how many cones they run past in the same time to better their previous score.
We would like to welcome Michael to our class.  He is working with some of the students in class with their reading, spelling and maths.  Michael is in our class for 1 and 1/2 hours per day and the students are enjoying working with him.
I will keep you updated with anything else that you may need to know but remember I am available to talk with you before and after school or by making an appointment to see me.
Thanks
Ange Garner

Life Education Trust
Room 2 have had their first visit to the Life Education Trust Caravan where we meet Jo who taught us a lot about 'Heart Central' and the 'Circulatory System'.  The 'Circulatory System' is the name we use for blood to travel around our body.
We have learnt that oxygen is the air that we breath in and it comes into the body through the arteries and carbon dioxide is the air we get rid of and leaves the body through our mouth.  Oxygen helps make our blood turn red.  Nutrients help to fuel our body and  we get nutrients from food.  We need water and exercise to help keep our heart healthy also.
Harold the Giraffe is terrific.  Do you know why Jo uses a Giraffe to help teach us about ourselves? Because no Giraffe is the same, we are unique and amazing each and every one of us.
Our first visit turned out to be a very successful time with everyone enjoying what we learnt and we were focused on everything that Jo showed us plus we go a booklet to fill in and complete with super cool activities to do.  Yay!!!

We are sooooo happy because we are doing Cricket at 9.00 - 9.45am on Tuesday 18th March and on Thursday the 20th March we have the Wellington Phoenix coming to visit from 2.00 - 3.00pm.  We can't wait!!!!

In Room 2 we are very sad because one of our friends is in hospital.  For those of you that don't know Cyrus Taylor has been flown up to Starship hospital as doctors have found a brain tumour.  He will be there for a few months and will need a lot of rehabilitation after his operation. We wish Cyrus all the very best for his operations and a speedy recovery as we really miss him in our class. We send all our love, hugs and support to him and his family. xx
